Response of Caribou to Habitat Disturbance

The goal is to assess northern mountain caribou demographic response, as measured by recruitment, relative to changes in habitat condition over time. Recruitment data collected on 15 herds throughout the Yukon for the past twenty plus years will be the main source of knowledge used. Habitat condition will be determined through GIS work and use of Canada-wide and regional disturbance data-sets. If possible inclusion of British Columbian northern mountain caribou will take place.
