This project will involve three components: (1) communication with Teslin Lake fishers about research on the lake and lake trout conservation, (2) field sampling to increase the number of tagged lake trout in the lake and the subsequent collection of genetic samples, and (3) preparation of a technical report. This project is a continuation of a two year project conducted by the TRRC which has considerably increased the knowledge of Teslin lake trout and involved numerous local fishers in a research project. Conducting this field sampling will provide information on lake trout spawning frequency/site fidelity and movements in the lake through ongoing recaptures by recreational and subsistence fishers on Teslin Lake.
