This project will aim to identify new candidate lakes for inclusion in the Yukon stocked lakes program. This will involve a combination of desktop GIS and an oprtional component to conduct field investigations of a number of lakes during the winter to assess overwintering potential for fish. This project will provide Environment Yukon with a base of information from which future decisions may be made as to which lakes may be suitable for future stocking of fish in an effort to reduce harvest pressure on native fish stocks such as lake trout.
