Sharing Results and Improving Monitoring on Herschel Island-Qikiqtaruk

The main goals of this project are to:

  1. Summarize and report on long-term monitoring data on rapid vegetation change on Herschel Island-Qikiqtaruk Territorial Park.
  2. Share results with interested parties (e.g. Yukon Parks, Wildlife Management Advisory Council (North Slope), Yukon Environment Regional Biologist, local communities)
  3. Provide recommendations to refine monitoring protocols, improve monitoring program, and provide training to Herschel Island-Qikiqtaruk Park Rangers;
  4. Evaluate the implications of rapid vegetation change to the conservation of wildlife populations, ecological integrity, and park management.
